WBU World – The World Buddhist University

About WBU

WBU is unlike normal universities, WBU is a university without walls. It plays an important role in coordinating among all Buddhist universities, educational institutes, and the WFB Regional Centres where Buddhism is taught and disseminated through the context of the globalization.

HOW WBU ORGANIZED

WBU, as part of the WFB family of organizations, the University maintains close working relationships with other WFB headquarters and its regional centres, programmes, commissions, funds and convention secretariats.

MANAGEMENT GROUP

The Management Group is a forum of senior WBU personnel that considers policy development, strategy, planning, and other priority issues.

WBU Council

The WBU Council serves as the governing board of the World Buddhist University. It is composed not less than 17 but not more than 25 members serving in their individual capacity, who shall be appointed by the President of the WFB in consultation with WFB's Executive Council. The Rector shall be an ex-officio member of the WBU council and serve as the secretary of the council.

Emblem of WBU

The emblem of the World Buddhist University consists of the triratna symbol inside the shield decorated with the ribbon imprinted with ‘The World Buddhist University.’
