Study in Mozambique
Mozambique is quite poor and underdeveloped country but has several institutions that can offer students an opportunity to study and learn about the beautiful country.
The Catholic University of Mozambique is one such institution with campuses in nine locations across Mozambique. The institution was established in 1996, a time when all higher learning institutions were located in the capital, Maputo. The institution has six faculties namely, economics and management, law, education and communication, agriculture, health sciences, and Tourism Management and Information Technology. The institution has strong religious background and tranquil learning environment.
Another good institution in Malawi is the One World University that came into being through efforts of Humana people to people in collaboration with the Government of Mozambique. The institution was established to fill the void of advanced training in the country and offers two programs namely education and a community development program. Many of the institutions graduates work in Humana training centres in Malawi, Angola, Mozambique and India. The institution ha s along list of partner institutions and schools that can help facilitate the move (cicd-volunteerinafrica.org).
Students interested in international studies in Mali can also gain access to the country through scholarship programs from organizations such as the borenwards.org. The organization gives preference to students who want to study in non-English speaking countries such as Mozambique. Students interested in research in disaster risk management may consider the Mozambique Technical University currently undertaking research on the topic. The research includes national GIS technicians and covers a wide range of focal issues including malaria, cholera and respiratory diseases in collaboration with the Maputo City Health Directorate. The University of Pennsylvania through its Huntsman program also sends students to Mozambique to study regional culture and economy while getting work-oriented exposure.
